Glasgow Clan are on the brink of not making the playoffs after a 6-3 defeat in Guildford to the Flames. The Clan will now need to beat Cardiff Devils on Sunday and hope other results go in their favour to make the post-season.

Ryan Hughes’ goal 32 seconds from the end of the opening period was the only through 20 minutes to put the Flames ahead.

Two goals in just over three minutes swung things in favour of Clan in period two. Luke Lynch and former Flame Jake Bolton combining to put the visitors 2-1 ahead just before the 30-minute mark. However, two goals in just over as many minutes from Hughes and Bradley Lalonde had the Flames back ahead before the second period was out.

Matt Alvaro added a two goal cushion with just under nine minutes to play, before Lalonde extended the lead again. With 2:47 to go, Philippe Sanche got Clan back to within two, but Ryan Tait made sure of the points on the empty net at 59:20.
