The next player to be confirmed as returning to Guildford for next season is forward John Dunbar.

The 28-year-old led the Flames for points in 2019/20 and will return on a two-year contract to keep at the Spectrum until 2022. He notched 11 goals and 42 assists in 57 games in all Elite League competitions last season, and has gone on to score 199 points for the team since they joined the EIHL.

"I am very pleased to have re-signed in Guildford," said the Canadian. "I feel we have been heading in the right direction the past few seasons and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in the future. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these trying times. I’m very much looking forward to getting back on the ice and playing in front of the amazing fans in Guildford!"

Head Coach Paul Dixon commented: "Across our three Elite league seasons, nobody on our team has been more productive points-wise so we are thrilled that John is happy to be back with us for another couple of years. He has led the team in assists in all 3 terms and that speaks for itself in terms of the important role he plays in our overall offensive success.

"John is a really easy-going guy and really loves to come to the rink everyday to play. He has a positive personality that has also been a big part of the good dressing room atmosphere we have maintained for the last several seasons.

"It’s great to have him back with us and we are looking forward to getting things going again when the season gets underway."
