In their first Champions Hockey League season, Belfast Giants took first place in the CHL's Marketing Award.
A six-part jury chose the winner across Europe, with the Giants coming out on top - Polish side GKS Tychy took the runner's up spot, while Klagenfurt of the EBEL came in third. The Giants were presented with a cheque for €10,000 at the CHL Final last week.
“We are honored to become the second winners of the Champions Hockey League Marketing Award,” said Mark Brooks, Partnerships & Sponsors Manager at the Odyssey Trust - owners of the Belfast Giants. “We loved our inaugural season in the CHL and the Teal Army really got behind the team in their numbers to help us become the first ever to win all three CHL prizes – the Marketing Award as well as both Fan Challenge Awards. We look forward to the Giants qualifying for the CHL again so that we can defend our titles!”
