Manchester Storm went top of the Motorpoint Elite League with a 2-1 road win over Glasgow Clan on Wednesday night.

Just 20 seconds into the game, a rare situation saw a review for the puck crossing the goal line at both ends of the ice on the same whistle. After consulting the video, however, neither team had scored the opening goal. It took until 13:21 of the first for the deadlock to be broken, Brandon Cutler getting the go-ahead marker for the Storm.

It took Clan until 8:02 into the final period to draw level. Keaton Pearson took Cade Neilson's pass and fired high over Drew DeRidder to tie the game. However, less than two minutes later, Storm were back ahead. A turnover on the blue line allowed Storm to go in towards the net, where Loren Ulett put the puck in for the game-winner.

Glasgow were handed a late powerplay with 4:19 to go, but a Too Many Men call on the Clan with 3:38 remaining ended that man advantage early. Rasmus Tirronen was pulled with 65 seconds to go, but, trapped in their own end, Clan couldn't force anything and the Storm were road winners.
