Cardiff Devils welcome Nottingham Panthers to the Vindico Arena on Friday night as both sides look to improve their position in Group A of the Challenge Cup.
Cardiff have played four Cup games so far, winning two and losing two for four points. The Devils are unbeaten at home so far this season, opening with a 3-1 win over Guildford and beating Manchester 4-2 at the Vindico Arena. On the road, however, they lost 3-2 in Coventry before being beaten 5-1 in Guildford.
Nottingham have played one game fewer after their scheduled trip to Manchester on opening weekend was cancelled. The defending Challenge Cup champions have three points from three games, beginning with a shootout win over Manchester before taking a point from an overtime defeat in Sheffield and then losing 4-1 at home to Guildford.
The sides have already met twice this season in pre-season, splitting the two games. Nottingham won 5-4 at home on 5 September before Cardiff responded the following evening with a 5-2 victory at the Vindico Arena.
