Fife Flyers ended the weekend with three points after picking up a win over local rivals Dundee Stars, to add to the point they picked up on Saturday night. Dundee ended the weekend having lost both games 4-1.
A four-goal opening period saw the home side lead, but trail at the break. Dundee went ahead with 6:24 played after a nice Travis Ewanyk pass found Maxim Eliseev in front. Fife levelled at 14:29 shorthanded, Michael Drábek's perfect pass for Xander Lamppa tying the game. Two and a half minutes later, Victor Bjorkung's shot from distance beat Carl Stankowski to put the Flyers ahead, possibly taking a deflection in front of him. Captain Garent Hunt made it three 51 seconds later when he tidied up on a breakaway.
There were no goals in period two, but it wasn't without chances. Dundee had a couple of opportunities on rushes to get themselves back to just one behind, but couldn't beat Dominik Groh. Ewanyk and Joseph Piece dropped the gloves midway through the period to keep the crowd entertained.
That two-goal lead held throughout most of the final period, with a late penalty on the Flyers giving the Stars a late chance to get back into the game. Zach Power added an empty-netter with 18 seconds to go to seal the win.
