Roster Regulations updated for 2026/27
Minor changes made to Roster Regulations

Minor changes have been made to this season's Roster Regulations, following approval at the EIHL Board Meeting in July.
There are no major changes to the previous regulations. Teams may still ice a maximum of 15 non-homegrown players on a gameday roster, with the overall gameday roster limited to 18 skaters and two goalies. The overall roster for the season remains at 25 players (excluding Injured Reserve replacements, and two-way players where exceptions are noted).
The Roster Regulations are included below.
The updates for this season are:
- Updated wording: A two-way player may play 20 games, not including Challenge Cup Group Stage games, before they count on a team's roster.
- Updated ruling: A homegrown player placed on Injured Reserve may not be replaced by a non-homegrown player. They may only be replaced by another homegrown player.
- Clarified ruling: Players placed on Injured Reserve do not count towards either the maximum of 20 non-homegrown players a team may use during a season, the maximum of 25 players on a roster in one season, or the maximum of 18 non-homegrown players it may have registered at any one time.
