Fife Flyers rounded out the season with a four-point weekend over Scottish rivals Dundee Stars, going to overtime for the second consecutive night between the teams.

Neither side could find the back of the net in a back-and-forth first period, despite both generating a number of high-quality scoring chances throughout.

A diving save by Jackson DeSouza at the midway point denied Fife their best opportunity, while Dundee had the lone powerplay of the period, which saw them put Christian Purboo to the test.

A similarly scoreless second period saw Christian Purboo and Jarrett Fiske remain sharp to keep the score at 0-0, with the Stars and Flyers both failing to find the back of the net.

Ian Scheid broke the deadlock at 49:12 on the powerplay, pouncing on a faceoff win in the Stars’ zone and wristing a quick shot past Fiske.

Otto Nieminen responded almost immediately to level the score at 1-1, beating Purboo off the rush at 49:24.

Johan Porsberger scored the game-winning goal for the Flyers, breaking in alone and beating Fiske at 62:20.
