MacDonald suspended for one game
Devils forward receives suspension

On Sunday night in Cardiff, Devils #92 Josh MacDonald was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for High-Sticking.
As the puck is being cycled in the Stars’ defensive zone, both Stars defenceman Jackson DeSouza and Devils forward Josh MacDonald are in front of the net engaged in a stick battle. As the puck transitions around the net, facing DeSouza, MacDonald lifts his and DeSouza’s stick, it is at the point MacDonald brings his stick down from a dangerous height, striking DeSouza in the head with sufficient force to merit supplemental discipline. This is High-Sticking.
It is important to note that this is not the typical motion of a player bringing his stick down to the ice and accidentally making contact with an opponent. This is also not a situation where a player loses control of his stick or where an off balance player is careless in an attempt to steady himself. MacDonald is in full control of his stick and his own body at all times during this play and must simply display more control to ensure his stick does not directly contact his opponents head in this situation.
To summarise:
- This is High-Sticking
- No History
Cardiff Devils #92 Josh MacDonald is fined and suspended for one game.
