Busch suspended for three games
Flames forward receives suspension
On Saturday night in Coventry, Flames forward #13 Tyler Busch left the Players’ bench during an altercation and for the purpose of starting an altercation.
As the video shows, Blaze’s Connor Russell and Matthew Gosselin are tied up behind the play, the play moves up the ice and moments later the referee then blows to assess penalties to both players. Russell subsequently skates after Gosselin. At this point, Tyler Busch, not a part of a legal line change, leaves the Players’ bench and immediately goes after Russell.
IIHF Rulebook (Rule 70.3)
The Player who was the first or second Player to leave the Players’ bench (or penalty box) during an altercation or for the purpose of starting an altercation, from either or both teams shall be assessed a game misconduct penalty.

A Player who leaves the Players’ bench or Penalty bench to join an altercation will receive either a 20 (Game Misconduct) penalty or 2 + 20 (Game Misconduct) penalty and shall be automatically suspended for a minimum of three (3) games, pending a review of the incident.
