Five goals in a little over 20 minutes spread over the first two periods put Sheffield Steelers in control on their way to a road win in Manchester.
Patrick Watling got the opener with just over five minutes to go in the opening frame.
24:45 into the second, Ryan Tait made it two before three goals in under six minutes put the Steelers in cruise control. Brett Ritchie, a second from Watling, and then Mikko Juusola put five on the board for the visitors by 38:01.
Nick Welsh and Loren Ulett gave Manchester Storm some hope in the final period, but by then it was too little too late.
