Cardiff Devils stayed second in the Elite League table with a 4-1 home win over Guildford Flames on Friday night.

Ben Davies played in his 1,000th Elite League game, becoming only the fifth player to reach this milestone.

Ethan Strang had the Flames ahead after just 23 seconds, but Cedric Lacroix levelled with 3:28 remaining in the opening period.

A scoreless second period saw both sides fail to capitalise on a powerplay opportunity each.

The Devils won it 128 seconds from the end thanks to Gleason Fournier, who put them ahead for the first time on the night. Lacroix then fired into the empty net 55 seconds later to make things safe, before Josh MacDonald also found the open cage to seal a 4-1 win.
