Seventh hosts eighth on Friday night in the Elite Ice Hockey League.
Glasgow Clan welcome Coventry Blaze to Braehead Arena, 20 days after the visitors left with a 4-1 win. Since then, victories in four of their last five games, along with an overtime point in a loss to Dundee, have lifted Coventry level on points with Glasgow, although having played one game more.
Those results have helped both the Blaze open up an 11-point gap over the teams below them in the race for a playoff place.
Clan’s recent form has been challenging, with just one win from their last eight games, a home victory over Sheffield, and that remains their only win so far in 2026. Over the last 15 games, their record is better only than Dundee’s. By contrast, Coventry rank as a top-five team over the same span, having collected 17 points from the last 30 available.
Both previous meetings between the teams this season in Braehead ended 4-1, giving each side a win apiece.
23 January has seen 31 games played across the league’s history, though none since 2022. Of those, 16 were home wins, 14 went to the road team, and one ended in a tie – when Braehead Clan visited Coventry in a Challenge Cup fixture in 2013.
