Conway suspended for dangerous trip
Giants forward receives suspension

On Saturday night in Belfast, Giants forward #10 Scott Conway used his leg to dangerously trip Storm defenceman Nick Welsh, knocking him backwards into the ice. Conway was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.
After Belfast gain the offensive zone, Conway makes a pass to his teammate Marcus Eriksson. Eriksson loses the puck and it becomes loose. Welsh picks up the loose puck in his defensive zone and immediately makes a move around Giants forward Marcus Eriksson.
After making the move, he then enters a battle with Scott Conway. Conway, in full control of his leg and aware of the position of Welsh, kicks his left leg forward making significant contact with the back right leg of Welsh, sending him off balance and backwards to the ice. This is a dangerous trip.
It is important to note that there are many occasions where players use either their legs or stick and upper body to restrain, impede opponents or to gain leverage during a puck battle. What causes this play to rise to the level of supplemental discipline is force Conway uses when kicking the leg of his opponent.
To Summarise:
- This is a dangerous trip
Belfast Giants #10 Scott Conway is fined and suspended for one game.
