Ulett suspended for one game
Storm forward receives suspension

On Friday night in Manchester, Storm forward #14 Loren Ulett made an illegal hit to the head of Guildford Flames defenseman #19 Charlie Curti.
Curti picks up a loose puck on the half wall in his defensive zone, with Ulett forechecking. As Curti looks up ice to make a pass, Ulett finishes a high check that cuts across the front of Curti’s body, making his head the main point of contact on a hit where such head contact was avoidable. This is an illegal check to the head.
It is important to note that both elements of the illegal check to the head rule are met on this hit: firstly, the head is the main point of contact as Ulett's left shoulder makes contact with the head of Curti and it is the head that absorbs the majority of the contact. Second, the head contact on this play is avoidable. While Curti is in the process of passing the puck, he does not change the position of his body or head in a way that contributes to the head contact. If Ulett wishes to deliver this check legally, he must stay low and take an angle that hits through the shoulder and core of Curti.
To Summarise:
- This is Checking to the Head
- Avoidable
- No relevant history
Effective immediately Manchester Storm forward #14 Loren Ulett is fined and suspended for one game.
