EIHL board fully supportive of Milton Keynes' decision

There will not be a Milton Keynes franchise in next season's Elite League

The Elite Ice Hockey League Board would like to thank the management group of the Milton Keynes Lightning for their dialogue regarding the league's invitations 2020/21 Franchise applications.

Milton Keynes announced earlier this week that they will continue playing in the NIHL next season.

"We have continued talking to the management group of the Lightning since the summer and into the new season. Earlier this week, they informed us of their intention to stay in the NIHL next season, and it is a decision that the EIHL board fully supports," explained EIHL Chairman Tony Smith. "We will continue to talk to them about a possible return of Elite League hockey to Milton Keynes, and want to make sure that we keep the communication channels open. Our door is never closed."
