Sunday: Scottish derby headlines Sunday action

Week 23's Sunday action sees four games spread across the afternoon and evening.
Nottingham Panthers don't have long to dwell on Saturday night's defeat in Glasgow, back on home ice at 4pm to host third-placed Belfast Giants. Other results last night saw the Panthers slip back to six points behind the playoff places, but they've been good of late at the Motorpoint Arena with four straight wins. The Giants appear to be locking themselves into third and head to the Motorpoint Arena having not lost to the Panthers this season, and with an undefeated record in Nottingham dating back to December 2022.

Sheffield Steelers return home after a defeat in Cardiff to face a Coventry Blaze team with reason to be confident heading into the Utilita Arena. The Blaze have not lost in regulation in Sheffield in league play this season, taking a point on their two league visits, although they were comfortably dispatched in the cup Semi-Final. Coventry were beaten by Dundee on Saturday and have fallen back into the chasing pack after two wins in their last six games. Sheffield are still 12 points clear at the top.

Arguably the biggest game of the day takes place in Dundee, where the seventh-placed Stars host the team one place and one point behind them in Glasgow Clan. Both sides picked up wins on a Saturday, and both have the chance to climb the standings with a victory here. While the Stars' win in Coventry ended their losing streak, Glasgow have now won three on the bounce.

Cardiff Devils need to make it a four-point weekend if they're to keep the pressure on leaders Sheffield after beating the Steelers last night, and they head to Guildford on Sunday needing to build on that victory. The Devils have won 13 of their last 14 games and face a Flames team who have lost six in a row.
