Sheffield Steelers head into Wednesday night's return leg of their Challenge Cup Semi-Final with Coventry Blaze with a six-goal cushion to play with as they look to reach their first trophy game since 2020.

The Steelers won the Challenge Cup shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, but have not been back for another shot at that trophy since, falling at the Semi-Final stage in each of the last two seasons. They have a big aggregate lead for comfort, as well as coming back to play on home ice where they haven't lost since early December.

Coventry will need to pull off one of the all-time biggest aggregate comebacks in the Elite League's history if they're to make their first cup final since 2006. The Blaze have yet to lose in Sheffield in regulation this season, but they'll need to find a way to do something that no team has done to the Steelers yet in 2023/24 - put six goals in their net. The most that Sheffield have conceded in a single game this campaign is four.
