Kielly shuts out Giants in Belfast

Glasgow Clan handed Belfast Giants their second home shutout defeat of the season with a one-goal victory at a sold-out SSE Arena.

Cody Sol's floated shot from the point found the back of Jackson Whistle's through a crowd of players to open the scoring with 10:28 played.

That was how the score stayed into period two, with the Giants coming close on a number of occasions but often opted for the extra pass with Jake Kielly either grounded or stranded.

Oliver Cooper saw a puck run across the crease with no one there to tap it home inside the final five minutes of the third period

With 1:12 to play, Ryan Harrison smartly got the red line before shooting on the empty net, but missed the target and the Giants continued to stay one behind. Namesake Mark had the Giants' best chance to level the game late but again found Kielly who held on and gave up no rebound, as he had done all evening.

Kielly held on for a 38-shot shutout, his second of the season.
