Cardiff Devils let a two-goal lead slip, but responded in overtime, to keep up the pressure at the top of the league.

Cardiff scored the only goal of the opening period , Cody Donaghey having his point-shot saved by Antti Karjalainen but Jamie Arniel was on hand to put home the rebound at 10:03.

Justin Crandall doubled the lead 3:34 into period two in the slot, picking up the puck after Dyson Stevenson blocked his initial shot, and firing into the net.

Darien Craighead pulled one back for Clan four minutes later after Robert Lachowicz went from his own blue line to behind Bowns' net and put a perfect feed pass out for Craighead to slot home. With 2:21 left in the period, Lachowicz spun to find a loose puck and shot past Bowns to tie the game.

Ben Bowns made a series of quick saves to keep the game level as the game entered the final ten minutes, stopping four shots in a matter of seconds. With 4:20 to go, Karjalainen denied a Devils 2-on-1 rush from putting the visitors back in the league.

Both teams took a point at the game went to overtime, where Trevor Cox needed 52 seconds before sniping past Karjalainen to win the Devils the game and the extra point.
