Saturday: Week 12 continues with four games

It's a four-game Saturday night in Week 12 of the 2023/24 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

After a 4-3 win in an intense game against Nottingham Panthers, Belfast Giants are on the road in Coventry to face the Blaze - a team they will then visit midweek in the Quarter-Finals of the Challenge Cup. Belfast's win on Friday night got them up into the league's top five places - and while the Blaze are currently last, they've won their last three games in a row. It's just over three years to the day the Blaze last beat the Giants at home - 8 December 2021 in the cup. Their last league win over Belfast at the Skydome was in November 2019.

Cardiff Devils remained in Scotland after their midweek cup victory over Glasgow Clan, ahead of a double-header north of the boarder this weekend. They head into Dundee tonight before going back to Glasgow for a league fixture on Sunday. That cup victory over Clan came after the Devils lost both league fixtures last weekend. The Stars, meanwhile, earned a shootout win in Nottingham to end a three-game slide.

Manchester Storm host Fife Flyers in Altrincham in a game that both teams need to win to halt losing runs. Both sides started the season well but have found wins hard to come by of late: Storm are winless in six in all competitions, while the Flyers haven't logged a win in four games.

Last season. Sheffield Steelers vs. Guildford Flames was a clash of two teams chasing the league title. Fast forward to this year, however, and it's a very different story. While the Steelers lead the league and are clocking up wins in all competitions, Guildford struggled at the start of the season and find themselves with only 14 points from 15 games - one of only two teams under .500 so far this season. The Flames have lost both home fixtures against the Steelers in 2023/24 so far, but have won three of their last four games overall. Sheffield are unbeaten in three straight league fixtures, as well as not having dropped a cup point this season.
