Clan into third with Friday night win

Glasgow Clan moved into third in the Elite League standings with a 3-1 home win over Belfast Giants on Friday night.

Belfast, coming in off the back of two straight wins, led early in front of 3,231 fans at Braehead Arena - Johnny Curran's inch-perfect shot beat Antti Karjalainen high glove side to open the scoring with 1:46 played. Clan were level, however, before the break through a Jake Bolton one-timer, set up off a Luke Lynch faceoff win and Bryce Reddick feed, with 51 seconds left in the opening period. 

The only goal in the second saw Lynch put Clan ahead with 32:21 played, converting Reid Petryk's pass off his skate. The goal was reviewed for a kicking motion but upheld after review. 

Reece kelly adding the final goal of the game with 2:08 to play after Clan had killed off three straight penalties during the final period.
