Cardiff Devils moved joint top of the Elite League standings with a 5-2 road win in Dundee, helped by a four-goal second period against the Stars.

A scoreless and penalty-less opening period saw the teams level after 20 minutes, but the game sprang into life in the middle frame.

Cole Sanford gave the Devils the lead 4:53 into the second through Cole Sanford wristing home in the slot off a perfect pass from Trevor Cox. That lead was doubled 12 minutes later through Jamie Arniel, who finished at the near pass after an excellent reverse pass from Cole Ully. Ully then fed Tyler Busch who set up Brandon Alderson unmarked in the slot for the 3-0 lead two minutes later, while Sanford found the net again with under two seconds left in the period to put the Devils 4-0 ahead and cap a horrible three and a half minutes for the home side.

The league's leading points scorer, Ryan Valentini, got Dundee on the board with 7:56 to play, but the empty net gamble with just under four minutes to play backfired when Marcus Crawford slotted into the empty cage at 56:30.  e Brendan Harms added a second for the Stars with 2:58 left to complete a 5-2 scoreline.
