Sunday: Steelers, Flames and Stars return to home ice

Three games are on the schedule to round out this week in the 2023/24 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Sheffield Steelers return home after a Challenge Cup win in Manchester to face Coventry Blaze in league action. It is the Steleers' first home game since the tragic events at the end of October, and only their second game since then. Coventry head into the Utilita Arena last in the standings, while the Steelers were knocked off top spot yesterday by Cardiff.

Dundee Stars and Glasgow Clan complete Challenge Cup Group A on Tayside from 5pm. The Clan need to win this game in regulation to then start a lengthy tie-break process with Fife Flyers for seeding - if Clan do win in 60 minutes, they'll need to score at least six goals in the process to draw level with the Flyers' goals scored. Dundee, meanwhile, have an outside chance at making the final round if they can win here - it would potentially open a tie-break process with Manchester in Group C if Storm were to pick up no further points in their one remaining game.

The day's final game sees Guildford Flames hosting Belfast Giants. The Flames went into Belfast last weekend and skated away with a win, and have yet to lose since - now on a three-game win streak. Belfast, meanwhile, have lost three of their last four games including two at home. The Giants have won five straight in Guildford, however.
