Sheffield Steelers returned to action with a three-goal cup win over Manchester Storm in Altrincham.

An early Patrick Watling goal put the visitors ahead with just over eight minutes played, although the scores were level at the break after a defensive mix-up in the Steelers end allowed Mitchell Martan to slot into an empty goal with 38 seconds left in period one.

Robert Dowd and Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored five minutes apart to put the visitors two in front, with Daniel Ciampini settling things 5:12 from the final buzzer with the Steelers' fourth to keep them unbeaten in Challenge Cup action.
