A crowd of 8,843 saw Sheffield Steelers come from behind to beat Manchester Storm 6-1 on Wednesday night as they took control of Challenge cup Group C.

Andreas Heier put Storm ahead @:39 into period two and it was a lead they held almost until the second intermission - Robert Dowd levelled in close with 16 seconds left in the middle period.

The third was where the Steelers took over, however. Brett Neumann put them ahead on the powerplay before a four-minute spell put the game to bed. Josh Nicholls made it 3-1 with 10:50 to play, followed by goals from Mitchell Balmas and Scott Allen to put the hosts 5-1 ahead by 53:57. Kevin Tansey added a sixth with 1:22 left.

Storm's search for a first win at the Utilita Arena since 2018 goes on, while the teams will meet again in Manchester this weekend.
