Saturday: Scottish derby in Challenge Cup

Fife Flyers host Dundee Stars tonight at the Auld Barn in Kirkcaldy as the teams meet in their first competitive fixture of the season.

Since the last time these sides met where points were on the line, the Stars have appointed Marc LeFebvre as Head Coach, while Tom Coolen is behind the Flyers bench in a competitive derby fixture for the first time. The side split their pre-season series with a win each.

Hosts Fife were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Belfast last weekend before picking up a league win in Coventry. They have a two points form three cup games after a split series with Glasgow.

Dundee had to wait until last Sunday to get their first points of the season in a shootout win over leaders Manchester. Their only cup exploits to date have seen them lose twice to Belfast.

With the Giants now very likely to win Group A, the race is on to see who can finish second behind them.
