Former NHL defenseman Joe Morrow has joined Manchester Storm.

A former first round, #23 overall pick, the 30-year-old Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets during his time in the show.

In 2019 he headed to Europe to sign for Dinamo Minsk in the KHL, before moving to Ässät in Finland the following season. In 2021 he headed back to the KHL to join Barys Astana/Nur-Sultan, before joining HK Sochi the following season to bring his totals in the KHL to 82 games. He played two games for HC Davos in late 2023.

"To be able to sign a player of Joe’s calibre is huge for our group. When he became available we jumped at the opportunity to better ourselves," explained Head Coach Matt Ginn. "His experience in the top leagues around the world, including the NHL, will be invaluable to our group. Joe will be relied upon on both sides of the puck, and I’m thrilled to bring him onboard."

This signing takes Manchester up to 17 non-homegrown players for the season, therefore 3 non-homegrown roster places remaining. They have an overall roster of 21 players.
