The Elite Ice hockey League is proud to confirm its annual Pride celebration, which will be taking place again during the 2023/24 season.

It will be the fourth season that Elite League has been able to celebrate pride across all ten arenas, with the first Pride Weekend taking place in 2019/20. The tradition, however, goes back to the 2019 Playoff Finals Weekend where fans of all 10 teams decided to make Sunday's final day pride themed - highlighting just how much they value standing up for inclusion and diversity in our sport.

“Our fans showed us at the Playoff Finals Weekend back in 2019 how important it is to them that our sport celebrates inclusion and diversity, which led to our first Pride Weekend in 2020. We made a very clear commitment then that we wanted to promote the message that ice hockey is a safe space for LGBTQ+ athletes and fans alike, and we have been proud to continue celebrating this message for two more seasons since the pandemic,” said EIHL Media & Communications Manager Luke Fisher.

“Every time we organise our Pride event, both ourselves and our partners are blown away by how much our fans support this initiative. We hope Pride 2024 will continue to show just how importantly our fans value this message in the sport of ice hockey”.

Pride Games in 2023/24 will mainly take place over one weekend, 27 and 28 January 2024, while Cardiff Devils will organise their game as part of their continued and long-standing partnership with LGBT Cymru.
