Four pre-season games took place across Saturday night with big crowds at several venues.

Sheffield Steleers had over 9,000 fans in for a 4-1 victory over old rivals Nottingham Panthers. A lucky deflection of Scott Allen's skate put the Steelers ahead in period one, and while Otto Niemenen did level at 28:03, just 100 seconds later Mark Simpson hit a rebound past Rok Stojanovič to put the Steelers back ahead. Allen added an insurance marker with 11:31 to play in the third, while Brandon Whistle found the empty net late on.

In Cardiff, the Devils made it five straight pre-season wins with a 4-2 win over Glasgow in Clan's first game of this season. River Rymsha hit the only goal of the opening period with Nate Kallen levelling to leave things all square heading into the third. Tyler Busch and Cole Sanford struck less than five minutes apart to give the Devils a two-goal lead, although former Devil Bryce Reddick pulled one back for Clan with 4:28 to play. A late Jamie Arniel powerplay goal settled things for the Devils.

Over at the Skydome in Coventry, the Blaze survived an early scare to beat NIHL National side MK Lightning by five. The visitors took the lead at 4:30 through Rory Herman, but it took just 10 seconds for Alessio Luciani to reply for the hosts. MK's powerplay struck at 10:25 through Herman again, only for Tyler Kirkup to level justo ver a minute later, with James Shearer giving Coventry the lead at 12:10. Ben Solder tied the game with a powerplay goal inside the final five minutes of the period for his third point of the night. Two Danny Kristo goals just over four minutes apart put the Blaze up by two heading into the final period where Kobe Roth, JD Dudek and Ian McNulty added three more for the Blaze.

Dundee Stars earned the only road win of the night, beating Scottish rivals Fife Flyers 3-2 in overtime in Kirkcaldy. Johnny Walker and James Phelan had the Stars up by two in a little over ten minutes, but in a penalty-stricken game the Flyers eventually made their special teams count as well with goals from Johan Eriksson and Max Humitz to tie the game by 38:02. in the closing stages of the third, the Stars survived a brief 5-on-3 situation to force the game into overtime where Jake Elmer's shot from an angle beat Shane Owen at the far post to settle the game.
