Belfast Giants were again left empty-handed in a CHL road game where they perhaps deserved more.

In what was a fast-paced and tight game throughout, the in western Austria, the Giants fell behind to Gordon Green's goal with 1:47 left in the middle period, Mat tMcLeod tied the game 5-on-3 shorthanded after Matt McLeod raced for a loose puck and slotted home.

Corey Mackin's goal at 47:41 turned out to be the game winner, although the Giants did hace chances on a late powerplay, and with Tyler Beskorowany pulled for a 6-on-5 advantage in the final 90 seconds.

The Giants return home to face another ICE Hockey League side this weekend, with HC Bolzano visiting the SSE Arena on Saturday. The Foxes are the only side below the Giants in the overall CHL standings with 17 goals conceded in just three games.
