American forward Westin Michaud is the latest name to be added to Nottingham Panthers' roster for the 2023/24 season.

The 27-year-old joins the Panthers from Denmark where he scored over a point per game for Odense Bulldogs last season. The spell in Denmark was Michaud's second in Europe after playing 22 games in Banská Bystrica in 2021/22 for the return of 13 points.

Michaud previously spent four seasons in the NCAA before playing 18 AHL games, an has since totalled 23 in the ECHL.

Panthers Head Coach, Jonathan Paredes, said: "Westin is a player that works hard on both sides of the ice. He has great vision and has the ability to see the ice extremely well.

"He has had success in North America and Europe so far and we feel he is a player that will fit in extremely well with the group. His compete level is high and we feel that’s one of the reasons he will be successful . We are excited to have him in Nottingham this season."

Michaud said: "I've heard it's an excellent league. My previous coach Paul (Thompson) said nothing but great things about the league and the country - and it really drew me in. Talking with Omar (Pacha) and Jonathan (Paredes) has been spectacular so far and it's great how everyone is excited for upcoming season.

"I am loving the detail and the team are bringing in the right people. I like to play as a two-way centre and bring offence, but at the same time be reliable on the back end .I've heard it's a blast with the fans and the commitment everyone has. We play for the fans and also for the club. We will do everything we can do win hockey games for the club every single night. I am super excited to get going."
