Sheffield Steelers will be able to call on the services of forward Scott Allen for a second season, the cub confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Allen arrived at the Utilita Arena last summer following three seasons in the DEL2 where he totalled 48, 55 and 33-point reasons respectively. The 33-year-old's debut EIHL campaign saw him score 24 goals and log 21 assists for 45 points in 50 regular season appearances.

"I like what I see in how Foxy (Head Coach Aaron Fox) has done his summer business and I’m in," began the Canadian. "We had enjoyed good times in Germany and I had a couple of friends playing on teams over there so we did take a look to see if there was any interest from those sides with the benefit of knowing that Sheffield was there as well.

"My family and I really enjoyed Sheffield and made many friends, so in the end it was a no brainer for us. I love the city, my team mates, the environment that Foxy creates so Sheffield was the only team in the UK for me.”

Fox commented: “Scotty coming back gives us a big versatile two-way forward that can play all three positions. He has an outstanding shot and release and led our team in goals last year. On the penalty kill, Scott and Daniel Ciampini were outstanding , they combined for six short-handed goals. He skates very well for a big guy and can also play a heavy game. He’s also great for the dressing room and is a guy we will count on in a leadership role. Great to have him back."
