Round-up of week's signings

It was a somewhat quieter week for player signings over the past five days, but no less than five players were added to rosters ahead of the 2023/24 season.

On Wednesday, Fife Flyers confirmed their third skater for the new season with forward Collin Shirley announced. The 27-year-old will be in his third year in Europe with the Flyers after spending last season in Újpest (Hungary) for the return of 29 points in 36 games, and 2021/22 in Krakow where he netted 13 goals and logged seven assists in 39 regular season games.

26-year-old netminder Mike Robinson, a 2015 NHL Draft by San Jose Sharks, was confirmed by Nottingham Panthers on Wednesday as well. He played nine games in the ECHL last season while spending the majority of the season in the SPHL, and is a player Assistant Coach Kevin Moore knows well since he was a junior. 

Guildford Flames' signing this week was 30-year-old forward Anthony Petruzzelli, who heads to Surrey with an impressive return of 211 points in 323 ECHL games over the past six seasons. He was also captain for Fort Wayne Comets for the past two seasons.

On Friday, Sheffield Steelers confirmed the arrival of defenseman Brien Diffley, most recently of Odense Bulldogs in Denmark where he recored 12 points in 42 games.He made his European debut in France in 2020, spending two seasons with Cergy-Pontoise. 

Finally this week, Belfast Giants added Quinn Preston to their roster for the new season. The forward comes after an impressive season with Wichita in the ECHL where he was almost ac point-per-game player, ending with 23 goals and 38 assists in 62 appearances in what was his first full season as a pro player.
