Manchester Storm's off-season recruitment has continued with the addition of defenseman CJ Garcia.

The The 27-year-old Canadian spent last season with Brasov in the Erste Liga, putting up 10 points in 33 league games. After five seasons at Carleton University in USports, Garcia made his European debut playing 26 games for Anglet in France, for the return of 12 points.

Head Coach Matt Ginn said of his latest signing: "CJ is a big addition for us on the back end. He is a smooth skating, puck moving defenseman. He takes pride in the defensive zone and his skating allows him to effectively jump into the play offensively. CJ is another high character person who has been a captain throughout his career. I’m excited to add CJ and look forward to what he will bring to our group both on and off the ice."

Garcia, who played with former Storm player Jared VanWormer last season, added: "I am very excited about joining the Manchester Storm and looking forward to playing in front of the amazing fans they have! I can’t wait to get there and get things started in September."

Forward Sam Tremblay and defenseman Joe Hazeldine are the Storm's other signings for 2023/24 so far.
