Saturday: Winner takes all as Steelers host Storm

It's all to play for in Sheffield this evening when the Steelers host Manchester Storm for a place in the 2023 Viaplay Playoff Finals Weekend.

A third-period comeback brought Storm level in the first leg and set up the winner takes all clash at the Utilita Arena on Saturday night. For Storm to advance, however, they'll have to do something they haven't managed since 2018: win in Sheffield.

The Steelers were in control and up by two heading into the final ten minutes of the first leg, but despite losing that advantage they still return home all square. Over 7,000 tickets have already been sold for tonight's game.

It will also be an emotional evening as club captain Jonathan Phillips plays his last home game for the Steelers, as will forward Brendan Connolly.

Overtime & Shootout rules
If the aggregate score is level after 60 minutes of tonight's game (and therefore after 120 minutes in the overall matchup), teams will play a five-minute, sudden-death 3-on-3 overtime period to decide a winner. If no goals are scored, the tie will be decided in a 'Best of Five' shootout. Should the scores still be level, a sudden-death shootout will follow with coaches able to nominate whichever player they choose to shoot for their team.
