Coventry Blaze cut the gap on fourth in the Viaplay Elite League down to just four points with a 4-2 road win over Nottingham Panthers at the Motorpoint Arena.

Tanner Sorenson scored the only goal of the opening period to put the hosts ahead at 7:05.

Blaze were level thanks to Davi Clements driving the net and finishing in close of Peyton Jones at 25:24, but less than five minutes later Jakub Ižacký slapped home a Mike Hammond pass on the powerplay to put the Panthers back ahead. John Curran capitalised on a bad defensive zone pass by the Panthers to beat Jones five-hole and tie things up with 2:40 left in the middle period.

Brady Norrish's pass across the zone found Kim Tallbery to fire home 7:38 into the third to put the Blaze ahead for the first time in the game. That lead held until the closing stages when Nathanael Halbert fired into the empty net to wrap up the win for the visitors.
