A 3-2 home win over Nottingham Panthers moved Fife Flyers back to within a point of the playoff places, with two games in hand.

Chris Lawrence's goal after just 123 seconds put the Flyers ahead early, re-directing a Reece Cochrane shot past Peyton Jones. Fabrizio Ricci levelled on the 10-minute mark with a one-timer in the slot.

46 seconds into period two, Janne Kivilahti capitlaised on a poor turnover by the Panthers in their own zone to put the hosts back ahead. That lead was cancelled out 17 seconds later as Kelly Summers' excellent stretch pass found Matt Myers in behind the Flyers defense to beat Shane Owen and tie things up again.

Kivilahti netted a top-shelf wrist shot with 1:28 left in the second to put Fife ahead for the third time as Lawwrence screened Jones from any sight of the puck.

The home side held out in period three to secure an important two points.
