Clan pick up huge road win in Dundee

Glasgow Clan's push for a Viaplay Elite League playoff place was given another boost on Sunday night with a road win over Scottish rivals Dundee stars.

Clan, who beat Fife at home 24 hours earlier, scored two goals in the middle frame on their way to the road victory. The opening period was a very chippy affair, more like a playoff game in many respects such was the importance of the game for both teams. Period one ended goalless.

An excellent Liam Stenton interception in the neutral zone set Clan forward on an odd-man rish for Dyson Stevenson to slot home Joran Cownie's pass at 28:03 to give Clan the lead. With 36:38 played. Gabriel Shabot shot home on the spin to beat Anton Svensson and put the visitors two up. Dundee came out for period three needing to get the next goal, but just 31 seconds were on the clock when Gary Haden wristed home in the slot to put Clan into a more comfortable three-goal lead. Ben Sokay pulled a goal back for the Stars with 7:11 remaining, but there was no more joy for the home side who slipped back to eight points behind the playoffs.
