A much-needed four-point weekend was recorded by Dundee thanks to a win away to local rivals Fife in Kirkcaldy.

With 56 seconds left in the opening period, Egils Kalns found Jagger Dirk through on the breakaway, and the defenseman slotted past Adam Morrison to make it 1-0 to the visitors after the first.

Fife were level through Carlo Finucci at 26:33, but Dundee went back ahead some five minutes later - Kalns' slapshot was saved, but Matt Marquardt was able to get on the rebound to score.

With Fife pushing for an equaliser late on they pulled Morrison, but the gamble backfired as the Stars broke on a 3-on-1 which saw Elgin pearce finish off the scoring.
