Belfast are the league's best team over the past 20 games with a return of 33 points from 40 on offer. That run, and key wins over other sides in the top three, has led them to sitting just a point behind leaders Guildford Flames but having played a game more. They will end the night joint-top of the Viaplay Elite League if they can beat the Panthers tonight.

Nottingham, meanwhile, are ranked as the league's third-worst performers over their past 15 games, picking up just 12 points out of 30. Prior to the break they picked up an overtime loss to Sheffield but won in the bonus period against Cardiff to stay just about clear in sixth. The Panthers have a four-point advantage over the sides chasing them, but are 13 shy of climbing any higher. 

The Panthers had won all of their meetings at home to the Giants this season until Belfast's comeback from three down in January saw them leave with a 5-3 victory.
