Blaze keep up pressure on top four

Coventry Blaze ensured they stayed within six points of the top four with a three-goal home win over Glasgow Clan in their only game of the weekend.

The 1,715 fans at the Skydome saw a goalless opening period, but two inside nine second period minutes as the home side took control. 

John Curran was allowed to skate into the slot where he finished a Ross Venus feed to make it 1-0. at 23:07, followed by David Clements firing a slapshot from the blueline on the powerplay at 28:39. Gabriel Chabot slapped past Paavo Hölsä off a faceoff play with Gary Haden at 36:03 to reduce Clan's arrears.

2:52 into period three, Mitch Cook deflected Clements' shot past Ty Taylor to make it 3-1 on the powerplay, before Ross Venus completed the scoring with another powerplay goal with 9:42 remaining.
