Flyers snatch late winner in Glasgow

Fife Flyers scored two third-period goals, including a winner with 52 seconds to play, to take a tight 2-1 win in front of 3,297 spectators at Braehead arena.

In what was a tight but often flat game, the first period ended scoreless with most chances coming on 2-on-1 rushes.

Clan took the lead just under halfway through the period. Off a faceoff win, a Dyson Stevenson shot was deflected and allowed Steven McParland to round Shane Owen and put the home side ahead. The other notable moment of the period was Stevenson and Chris Lawrence dropping the gloves at centre ice.

Janne Kivilahti tied the game at 47:13 as the Flyers started to create more chances. They were indebted to Owen for an incredible low glove save to keep the game tied with 10:35 to play.

Inside the final minute, a poor line change from the home side set up the Flyers for an odd-man rush where Christian Hausinger's pass set up Zack Phillips for a top corner winner with 52 seconds to play.
