Fife Flyers registered their second straight road win of the Premier Sports Challenge Cup in a 5-2 victory over local rivals Dundee Stars.

Shane Owen made 39 saves for the visitors, including a series of stops in the opening five minutes to keep the scores level. Janne Kivilahti nicely finished past Anton Svensson after a feed in front from Chris Lawrence to take the lead at 11:31. The Finn doubled that advantage on the powerplay some four minutes later when he converted Zack Phillips' pass on a 2-on-1. rush.

Lawrence finished off a nice passing exchange with Shawn Cameron to put the Flyers three ahead at 16:31.

Phillips' goal 2:33 into period three, coming in unseen at the far post, looked to have made things comfortable for the visitors, but they were pulled back to just a two-goal advantage as the hosts struck through Ryan Verrier and Romans Semjonovs. Lucas Sandström's empty-netter from below his own goal line, following an excellent Owen save off Fabrizio Ricci, sealed the points for Todd Dutiaume's side.
