Stars blank Flyers in Kirkclady

Dundee Stars began their Premier Sports Challenge Cup campaign with a 3-0 blanking of Fife Flyers in Kirkcaldy. 

A night after the Flyers hit six in Glasgow,  Anton Svensson made 22 saves to keep the home side out. At the other end, Philippe Sanche scored at 11:58 with a powerful one-timer past Shane Owen.

Elijah Barriga doubled the Stars' lead at 35:17 with their second powerplay goal of the night, and when Dillon Lawrence hit the post with a penalty shot at 41:41 it looked as if it wouldn't be the Flyers' night.

Chris Gerrie made it three 2:09 which was the game's final goal and rounded off an excellent road performance from the Stars.
