Tonight: Flames host Devils in Cup

Group C is still open as teams approach end of games

Guildford Flames host Cardiff Devils in the first of a home and home series between the sides this weekend in Challenge Cup action.

The Flames took an overtime win in Coventry midweek to go top of the group, and a win should all-but put the Flames into the next round due to their better head to head record against the Blaze.

Cardiff were victorious in overtime the last time these teams met at the Spectrum. A win for them would put them back on top of the group, but not quite over the line just yet.

"We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. These are two massive Cup games this weekend and we don’t have time to spend too much time patting ourselves on the back from the win in Coventry. We were back on the ice Friday to take our last preparation fort Cardiff." - Paul Dixon (Head Coach, Guildford Flames)

"We know what a dangerous team Guildford can be. Since we last played them they've been steadily moving up the tables in the league, and collecting some very impressive wins. They're not a team you can afford to give any sort of head start to." - Andrew Lord (Head Coach, Cardiff Devils)
