It's Challenge Cup Final Day!

Who'll take the 2022 title?

The first trophy of the 2021/22 season will be awarded tonight, and fittingly it's the last one that was awarded before the COVID-19 pandemic caused professional ice hockey to stop for over 18 months across the UK.

Tonight in Belfast, the Giants host the Cardiff Devils to decide who'll lift the 2022 Premier Sports Challenge Cup in what is expected to be a sell0out game at the SSE Arena.

Belfast last got their hands on the Challenge Cup in 2019, while Cardiff last took the title in 2017. The Devils eliminated defending champions Sheffield 5-0 in the Semi-Final, while the Giants got passed Nottingham 2-1.

The two teams meet having also contested the last Playoff Final held in 2019 which went the way of the Devils. This season, the Welsh side have won all three games at home, while the Giants have a 2-1 advantage in Belfast without losing in regulation.
