Steelers cruise into cup Semi-Finals

Sheffield secured their place in the Premier Sports Challenge Cup Semi-Finals with a 4-2 win over fife in Kirkcaldy to go through 9-3 on aggregate.

Trailing 5-1 from the first leg, the Flyers needed to get the first goal to have any chance of getting back into the tie. However, their take became all the more harder when Cole Shudra wristed home with 10:45 played to put the steelers ahead. 4:19 into period two, Imants Lescovs deked to buy himself an extra bit of space and slotted past Rok Stojanovič to make it one each, but Brandon Whistle's goal at 30:03 put the steelers back ahead. Any faint hopes of a Flyers fightback were all but killed off 10 seconds from the end of the period when Martin Látal converted form close range.

Justin Hodgman poked home a loose puck at 45:43 that shane Owen thought he had covered to make it 4-1, although the flyers had the last word on the night through Michael McNicholas 59 seconds later.

That was the end of the scoring which saw the Steelers through to the next round.
