After two losses last weekend, the Belfast Giants put on a clinical performance to shut out the Fife Flyers in Kirkcaldy on Saturday night.

After penalties on both teams in the opening phases of period one, Belfast took the lead at 13:04 as Jordan Boucher tipped Griffin Reinhart's shot in front of Shane Owen to make it 1-0 on the powerplay. They doubled their lead only 78 seconds later with Slater Doggett pouncing on a rebound, a goal that came after Jacob Benson was denied 1-on-0 by Tyler Beskorowany at the other end.

Scott Conway hammered home from the point at 31:29 to put the Giants three up, and from then on they never really looked like losing the game. fife did have a route back into things with two quick penalties on the Giants towards the end of period two, but when they went begging it was an uphill task left for the third.

Beskorowany kept the Flyers out to earn his 25-shot shutout and the Giants a valuable two road points. After a four-point week last time out, the Flyers have now gone down to two defeats already in the last five days.
