The Cardiff Devils have placed forward Brandon McNally on injured reserve, allowing them to sign an additional short-term non-homegrown player for 21 days without using one of their official changes.

McNally was injured on 25 September against Guildford and hasn't played since.

Valdix has previous Elite League experience for the Sheffield Steelers and MK Lightning, putting up points totals of 36, 45 and 46 over three seasons. He spent last season in the third German tier, but so far this campaign has been training in his native Sweden while searching for a full-time deal.

"We are pleased to be able to sign a quality player like Andreas on short notice,” explained Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "He brings a lot of experience at the EIHL level and has played previously in the Champions League with the Steelers.

It i's a whirlwind for him right now and we are looking forward to meeting up with Andreas in Helsinki tomorrow ahead of our game in Rauma on Wednesday."

Cardiff initially registered 13 non-homegrown players for the 2021/22 season, meaning that they are permitted to make an additional 7 changes during the season. McNally has been added to IR backdated to 26 September, and is ineligible to play for 21 days from that date. As soon as he is reactivated, the Devils will need to deactivate Valdix, or use one of their official changes.
